Smallbore Training

The club competes in indoor and outdoor smallbore rifle shooting, using .22lr target rifles.

Club members have access to all the kit they need. Every new member is provided with thorough one-to-one coaching.  As part of your membership fee, you are provided with the ammunition needed to complete the club training programme. Once a new member has finished all of the one-to-one coaching sessions she/he can come to the range at regular opening times to shoot and practice individually. All members are very welcome and encouraged to come with the rest of the team to competitions and compete for the club! These competitions are advertised well ahead amongst the members and take places in Scotland and the rest of UK.

During term time we regularly practice in our own 25 yards rifle range in the CSE (Center for Sports and Exercise, located at the Pleasance).

General Club Training times are TUESDAY EVENINGS (6:30pm - 9:00pm) and WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS (2:00pm - 5:00pm). Here, committee members and other experienced club members are available to coach beginners and intermediate members, and to give general advice.

More advanced shooters can bravely contact our smallbore captain to get more information about competitions and challenging opportunities available. If you are an experienced shot and wish to try out for the Team, please contact the Smallbore Captain (see the contacts section).
